| Sacred Heart students and teachers enjoyed a fun (and cartooningly funny!) week with cartoonist Duane Barnhart. During the week of February 7-11, we learned how to create basic cartoon characters and then add many whimsical and personal details. By the end of the week, all grade levels, Kindergarten through Sixth, were becoming proficient at creating characters that were amusing and amazing! The sixth graders had the opportunity to create "Claymation" movies depicting the lives of Lewis and Clark. First, they formulated a storyboard, then the set and finally the characters and objects needed for the movie. Each of the five groups then filmed their scene using a video camera, iMac computer and iStopmotion software. The final touches will be added to the movies using the program, iMovie. Look for the final production this Spring as part of our Spring program. We had a fantastic week with Mr. Barnhart. He taught us soooo much! Check out our photos by clicking on the link below. |
